WOO! Let’s have a hand for all of our first round winners! We’re taking a tourney break this week. Kind of like a “bye” week in football, these roasters earned a little rest until their next trip into the ring. Congrats to Doug Fager (1-0, RBR) and Pete C for busting everyone’s bracket! Keep in mind, this extra week also gives everyone some extra time for their tourney brackets! Speaking of, here’s the link to a printable version of it. A perfect bracket can win a spot on a future Hella Show! “Is that even a good prize” is probably what you’re saying. First, it’s LA stage time stfu. Second, come check it out! The next show is this Friday at 10pm in the Belly Room. No cover! I’ll be accepting brackets after the show. Alright, let’s get to the action. But let’s sneak in a Troy Conrad pic first, for ol’ time’s sake.
Remember that chick’s boobs? They derailed the show for like twelve minutes. Let’s give it up for boobs. Also, let’s hear it for the other tourney participants who get an A for effort! No one remembers these things anyway. Except for me. And anyone who reads and listens to the pod. Or was there that night. Anyway, hope I helped. Best of luck on future endeavors!
Tonight’s judge trio are some of my favorite people in comedy. Thomas Dale is America’s sweetheart and happens to be on the The Hella Show this Friday, December 4th at 10pm with no cover. Adam, a Hella Show vet himself, is one of this writer’s favorite comedians to watch. Make sure you’re subscribed to his hilarious podcast, About Last Night. Ahmed Ahmed definitely isn’t Maz Jobrani and is another Sullivan and Son castoff that we’re happy to welcome. All three are super funny dudes and Comedy Store paid regulars, which means the comedy and chemistry will be on point.
In the first undercard, April Lotshaw (0-0, UR) goes up against Anna Valenzuela (0-0, UR)!
Ok we may have another fake person on our hands. A Twitter search of her name revealed two profiles with egg avatars. I would see if she had a Facebook but those are easy to fabricate. I have three other Facebook profiles and they are all thriving. Also, have you ever known someone to rep Whitter? Me either. Anna is a sweetie. Very funny and always has a smile on. A little too much red plaid for this writer but I don’t believe that will hold her back from a win tonight.
The next undercard pits Al Bahmani (2-1, 44) against Steven Alan Green (0-0, UR)!
Love this battle. Al went all the way to 2002 to buy a hoodie for this wilderness picture. Looks like he brought a stepdad back so he could battle him. Not his stepdad, just a general stepdad. I’ll be honest, I tend not to trust people who parade around their middle name. And it’s not even a sweet middle name like Ryan or something, just Alan. This should be an easy win for Al. Or my name isn’t Joshua Ryan Waldron.
And in our Main Event, Guam Felix (3-0, 20) is set to battle Sina Amedson (2-3, 42)!
No tourney? No problem! The Main Event returns in fabulous foreign fashion! So foreign, battler has another country in his name. Guam is a great dude and funny comedian. He’s the door guy for the VIP section so if you find yourself rooting against him, it’s because you’re not important/hot enough to sit back there. I’m not either so let’s hear it for Sina! Totes joking. This should be a great match. Guam once ruined a pair of my underwear by scaring me in front of Mel’s Diner. I still don’t trust anything themed after the 50s. Sina is shown here playing his “Saudi Prince” character. The prince is a misogynistic, violent asshole, a real stretch for Sina given that he plays a puppet in his other acting ventures. Guam built his impressive record by roasting a few tomato cans. Sina acquired his below-average record by battling some of the best that we have. Love both of these guys but Sina is the pick.
I am 73-44 in picks and my new tourney bracket is intact! Yea, I’m the only one keeping track. Wanna fight about it? Thanks as usual for reading and coming to the show. Listen to the podcast!
